A Jaru ceramic elephant with a brown glaze. This charming piece depicts an elephant with its trunk curved downward and has green felt protector pads on the bottom of the feet. Made by Jaru Art Products in California. Jaru was started by Jack and Ruth Hirsch in the 1950s In Culver City. They remained in business until the early 1990s.
