The painting features an Edgar Degas style both thematically and in composition, portraying a group of ballerinas on stage with an instructor in subdued shades. The piece is signed to the bottom right in paint. It is presented without mat or glass in an ornate gilt wood and gesso frame with wire to the verso for hanging.
