Vintage Hand Thrown Stoneware Wallace & Gregory Vinegar Pitcher

Item Details

A vintage Wallace & Gregory Brother stoneware vinegar pitcher. The pitcher was hand thrown from locally dug groggy stoneware clay. It was likely wood fired and has a deep semi-matte chocolate brown glaze. It has a primitive, hand applied strap handle to one side and forced lip to the front. Incised by hand to the front reads, ‘Compliments of Wallace & Gregory Bros. Pure Vinegar Paducah, KY.’

Condition

- scratches and a chip on spout and front side. The glaze has natural pitting from the type of clay and glaze used.
