An oil painting on linen titled Scroll Silence One from the Metaphors of Silence series by well-listed American artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela, b. 1954), created in 2010. While unsigned by the artist, the piece comes to EBTH directly from the artist’s studio. The title, year of creation, and series can be found on the artist’s website. Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. He is most well-known for his non-objective abstract paintings that exhibit a combination of linear delineation and fluidity. For more information about the artist, see the link below.
