Robin Van Arsdol "Staduim Cup" Ceramic Sculpture

A vintage signed ceramic sculpture titled Stadium Cup circa 1977, by American artist, sculptor, collector, and art critic, Robin Van Arsdol (b.1949). Arsdol is best known as being a major player in the Street Art Movement during the 1970s and 1980s, often including prolific and symbolic images in his artwork. This small, abstract sculpture piece features a circular cup with a flattened plate around it, which appears to look like a teacup and saucer at first glance, but is actually a unique sculpture of a football or soccer stadium. The entire piece has an off-white glazed finish with stippled details throughout, which is hand signed by the artist using silver marker to the underside, along with the number ‘1/5’.

Condition

Fair to Poor – Chipping Throughout. Discoloration. Black residue in the bottom of the piece.
