A watercolor painting on paper titled Off Chesapeake Bay by listed American watercolorist Charles DeWolf Brownell (1822-1909), created in 1859. The painting depicts a blurred horizon line of a body of water and the sky. Inscribed in the upper right corner with title and date is ‘Off Chesap.- May 17- 59 – calm.’ Gallery label on verso includes ‘Borghi Fine Art Gallery.’ A catalog from the Hirschl & Adler Galleries exhibition is included. Presented behind glass in a gilt frame with white matting.
