A watercolor painting on paper of a landscape by listed American watercolorist Charles DeWolf Brownell (1822 – 1909), created in 1862. The painting depicts a single tree next to a body of water with cloudy skies and rolling hills in the background. Marked and dated to the lower left corner, ‘E.H. Oct 62.’ Presented behind glass in a gilt frame with white matting and a hanging wire to the verso. Accompanied by a Hirschl & Adler Galleries exhibition catalog.
