A watercolor painting on paper titled Waiting for the Tide to Turn by listed American watercolorist Charles DeWolf Brownell (1822 – 1909), created in 1865. The painting depicts a man in a hat leaning against a rock with oars behind him with a boat floating in the water in the background. Inscribed in the lower right corner with initials and date is ‘C.D.W.B. 65.’ Gallery labels on verso include ‘Hirschl & Adler Galleries’ and ‘Borghi Fine Art Gallery.’ A catalog from the Hirschl & Adler Galleries exhibition is included. Presented behind glass in a gilt frame with white double matting and a hanging wire to the verso.
