A signed limited edition woodblock, etching and aquatint with carborundum on wove paper titled Mask of Okeanos circa 1984 from the ‘Masks’ series, by English pop artist, Joe Tilson (b.1928). Tilson is best known for his sculptures, paintings, and prints, featuring very intriguing designs, often with bright, vibrant color palettes. This etching depicts a Greek man in the center with a thick beard who is surrounded by a bright green box and various green and blue splotches, which also features various green lettering along the lower margin reading ‘Okeanos’ in Greek. This piece is pencil signed and dated by the artist in the lower right margin and is numbered 4 out of an edition of 40 to the lower left margin. The print is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.

Condition

Minor scratches to plexiglass and frame. Print has slipped in the matte and the mounting tape is showing.
