A pair of original untitled oil paintings on canvas signed by the artist W. Jones. The works depict tranquil New England harbor scenes. The canvas is void of human figures as the artist chooses to focus on the local architecture and the stately seacraft. The works were produced in the middle of the twentieth century. The name ‘W. Jones’ is thought to be a pseudonym for a small group of artists who produced the painting for the US market. Each is presented in a wood frame with hardware to the reverse.
