A vintage Metronome Award to Frances W. Preston, the President and CEO of Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) from 1986 to 2004. This award is a tan colored wooden metronome with brass-toned accents. There is a plaque to the front, that reads ‘Metronome Award Presented to Frances Preston For Her Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Music City, USA, 1975, Richard Fulton, Mayor.’ Frances W. Preston was a music industry pioneer, reported as the first woman corporate executive in Tennessee and helped with the careers of thousands of musical artists.
