A Remington 1858 revolver. This single action gun features a walnut wooden handle, rotating cylinder that holds six rounds, 7.75’ octagonal barrel with front sight, and a loading lever with cylinder pin. It is marked on top of barrel ‘Patented Sept 14, 1858, E. Remington & Sons Ilion, New York U.S.A.’, and underside of barrel marked ‘19380’ and ‘IF’ near the muzzle. The gun is also marked ‘A’ on trigger guard, ‘A’ near cylinder on the left side, and ‘G’ near the handle on the left side.

Condition

Consistent with age and use. Unable to test. Some wear and nicks on handle. Some places of rusting on metal, which has formed a patina over time.
