A hand-knotted Indo-Bijar wool area rug, imported by Woodward & Lothrop/John Wanamaker. The red, black and blue toned rug features a diamond motif inside a hexagonal central medallion, symmetrical rows of herati, carnations and lancet leaves through the body of the rug. It has a turtle motif in the main border, and carnation and diamond motif guard borders.The rug is finished with a overcast navy blue edges and white wool fringe on the shorter ends. Tagged to reverse.
