A watercolor painting on paper titled Double Rainbows, Gessenay by listed American artist Charles Brownell (1822-1909), created in 1871. The painting depicts two rainbows above pine trees with the sun illuminating a mountain in the background. The work is unsigned. Inscribed in the upper left corner with title and date is ‘Gessenay – Aug. 71’. Gallery label on verso is from ‘Hirschl & Adler Galleries’ and a catalog from the exhibition is included. Presented behind glass, housed in a gilt frame with white mat.
