Antique Commemorative Naval Flag

An antique embroidered patriotic naval commemorative flag. The battle flag features a trapunto technique beneath the elaborate embroidery on a cream silk. The flag depicts six American flags, three crossed over three with a central stars and stripes shield. The shield is turned at an angle and has thirty-seven stars which dates it to circa 1867. An anchor hangs below the shield and above is a Bald Eagle with open wings. Bellow the design it reads E Pluribus Unum. The flag is framed under glass in an gold painted, wooden frame. The frame has some damage and the flag has some stains from age.
