Josef Albers "I-S Va 1" Limited Edition Serigraph

Item Details

A signed limited edition serigraph titled I-S Va 1 circa 1969, by German-born/American artist and educator, Josef Albers (1888-1976). Albers is best known for his abstract paintings that mainly feature nested geometric forms often with a monochromatic palette. Albers’ education from the famous German school, Staatliches Bauhaus, strongly influenced his artwork throughout his career and is very evident in many pieces. This piece is pencil signed and dated by the artist in the lower right margin and is numbered 130 out of an edition of 150 to the lower left with the title written in the lower left as well. The print has a single white mat and is housed behind plexiglass in a simple metal frame with a wire for hanging to the verso.
