Tom Lohre Melted Oil Pastel Painting "Gaylord Texas River Walk"
Item Details
An original melted oil pastel painting on sheet metal by contemporary Cincinnati artist and inventor Tom Lohre (20th/21st century), titled Gaylord Texas River Walk. The painting was created by melting 175 carefully selected colors of oil pastels onto the heated aluminum surface; its execution was guided by a pixelated photograph in a manner similar to that which is carried out by the painting machine invented by Lohre using Lego’s Mindstorm Invention System in 2003. This method of painting claims to make the most of the least. Lohre claims to be the first to have ever painted a spaceship from life; he also painted the eruption of Mt. Saint Helens from life. This innovative painting is presented in a seamless gold leaf wood frame. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging, along with extensive information about the artist and this piece. The artist’s website can be found under Additional Information.
