Ansel Adams 1948 Silver Gelatin Photograph

A vintage silver gelatin photograph developed from the negative taken by well-listed American photographer Ansel Adams (1902 – 1984). The image depicts a stunning mountainous wooded wilderness, home to a majestic waterfall seen near the center of the composition. Initialed ‘A. A.’ in pencil to the lower right mat; it is unclear if this was inscribed by the hand of the artist. The photograph is mounted behind off-white mat, under glass in a narrow wood frame with a black finish. This piece retailed at The Rike-Kumler Company and is dated 1948, as indicated by the label attached to the verso.
