Hand Knotted Persian Area Rug

A hand knotted Persian area rug. The rug features a pattern down the field of a variety of harshang-style guls. The guls are in a palette of powder blue, light pink, mint green, navy blue and cream. The guls sit along a deep red field that is covered in arabesque linework that is surrounded by a resolved field. The border features a similar pattern in a matching palette that sits along a deep navy field with a large scale herati-style style pattern, framed by running water guard borders. It has overcast edges and a wool warp fringe. Reinforcing dstrips have been added to the underside to prevent curling. Unmarked.
