A vintage handwoven Caucasian wool area rug. This rug features an arabesque and Shah Abbasi palmette design in a palette of sage, moss and carmine red, with a central cartouche medallion and feathered palmettes. It has a compound resolved border in the classic herati style and a natural, dense and soft wool warp fringe to either end, and overcast edges. This rug is unmarked.
