A hand-knotted Anatolian area rug with elements of Konya design. This handmade wool area rug features three central rectangular medallions in olive green, burnt orange, bone, apricot and indigo, surrounded by hooked medallions and bisected rondels with ‘x’ forms on the carnelian red field. It has a compound border with a chain motif in ivory, indigo and carnelian, with a primary border in olive green with geometric motifs and star forms in the same palette. It has a small kilim skirt in the indigo, ivory and carnelian weft colors, with natural wool warp fringe to either end. It has double overcast edges in taupe, and is unmarked.
