An oil painting on unstretched canvas of an abstract scene by listed artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela, b. 1954). Executed in 2009, the piece depicts an amorphous scene of dark violet outlined with orange on a field of light violet. To the verso, the item is signed and dated by the artist in black marker. Presented unstretched and without a frame.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others.
