Item Details
An original 1896 oil painting on board by an artist named Edith Haley, titled Dashing Waves. The painting depicts a dark blue and gray wave smashing against a series of dark boulders. The water fades into an equally ominous purple-gray sky. The painting is signed and dated to the lower right in dark brown and is titled to the lower center. It is presented in a wooden frame with cast embellishments and white and gold-tone finishes. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.
Condition
- to fair. Board is quite warped convexly. Light craquelure and accretion across painting. Light loss of finish and cracking to frame.
