Alexander Pope Jr. Aquatint of a Hunting Hound

Item Details

An aquatint by well-listed wildlife painter Alexander Pope Jr. (1849-1924). It depicts a large wired haired wolfhound sitting upon a crest in a hilly landscape below a gray sky. It is signed in the bottom right corner ‘A. Pope Jr.’ This is presented with a double mat of white and black under glass in a wooden frame, wired for hanging.

Condition

- some wear to the paper, seen particularly to the right of the dog’s muzzle.
