A watercolor painting on paper by contemporary artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela / New York; b. 1954), circa 2003. The piece depicts an abstract scene with greens browns, blues and intermittent bursts of orange, applied within overlapped non-representational forms, creating a balanced composition between color and form. This work is signed and dated by the artist in black ink to the lower right corner. Unframed, awaiting presentation of choice.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others.
