An oil painting on linen titled Triangulation Series Number 14 by contemporary artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela/New York b. 1954). Executed in 2006, this work depicts a series of abstract forms in sweeping movements. A red horizontal isosceles triangle is painted over the composition, pointing to the right. This piece is signed in the lower right corner in bright blue paint. To the verso, the title, artist, medium, and year are present in black ink. Hanging hardware is installed to the verso.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. at the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others.
