An oil painting on canvas of a portrait of a young woman by an anonymous artist. The work depicts a brunette woman in late 19th-century clothing set before a tonal style landscape. The work is not signed and is presented in a gilt gesso wood frame. Hanging wire present to the verso.
Condition
- minor scuffing and chipping present to gesso on frame; two dime-sized losses in paint to center left of image; fine network of craquelure in the paint layers.
