An original award certificate addressed to well-known Austrian filmmaker, artist, collector, and journalist Billy Wilder for the 1951 film Big Carnival, also known as Ace in the Hole, presented at the 1951 Venice Biennial Art Festival. The certificate features reproduced imagery after a steel plate engraving as the backdrop. Original signatures in ink by the president and director of the festival are signed to the lower corners. The certificate is mounted within a worn white mat, without frame.
