An offset lithograph after a Salvador Dali illustration from a first edition of The Essays of Michel De Montaigne. This piece, printed 1947, depicts the titular figure presented in portraiture, outlined in frenetic line work against a sprawling landscape of a castle. Written below the composition is "Hommage a la France". The print is matted red and black and is presented behind glass in a terracotta red and gold tone wooden frame. On its verso is an attached certificate of authenticity from Esquire Galleries, Inc.
