Women's 19th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty Hand Embroidered Silk Robe

A women’s circa 1820, Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) court robe in dark navy silk and golden brocade depicting butterflies, golden pheasant symbols, and flowering branches symbolizing beauty, with longevity (shou) medallions and scrolls, silk trim bands with lotus flowers symbolizing purity down the front and along the hemline with split sides, hand embroidered collar and embroidered sleeve bands on the wide sleeves accented in blue silk with golden metallic couching depicting blossoming tree branches and Daoist Immortal symbols with intricate hand-stitched details, hand knotted silk button and loop closures down front, and light aqua blue silk lining with the tailors label still attached. Includes a matching sash, and a paper dated 1927, typed and stating that the robe at the time was a hundred years old from the Ho Yi Cheng Co. Purchased in Peking, China.
Condition
- some minor spot stains and fading on sleeves, some light wear on the silk and embroidery. The sash is fair with wear on the silk banded woven border.
