Antique Oak Cased Sewing Machine, Circa 1900
Item Details
A vintage working sewing machine manufactured by National Sewing Machine Company. The oak table has four drawers, two on each side, and features black iron legs and pedal with foliate design. The machine is functional and includes all accessories, including seven machine needles, and the original operating guide. Per seller’s provenance this machine was invented in the late 1800’s and a copy of the sewing machine head was displayed in the Smithsonian Institution Building (the Castle) as a part of the American technology that was showcased in the 1887 American Centennial exhibit.
