An oil painting on canvas titled Woman Posing, created by well-listed American artist Edgar Yaeger (1904-1997) in 1937. This work features a young nude woman leaning against a stool in front of studio backdrops. The work is portrayed in an expressionist style with vibrant colors, dark outlines, and facial features recalling Modigliani’s female subjects. The work is signed and dated in black to the lower right. Displayed in a beige wood frame with a white liner, the work is ready to hang with picture wire to the verso. Also attached to the verso is a descriptive from Cincinnati Art Galleries, LLC. Handwriting to the verso reads ‘E.Y.’ Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals, Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
