Michael Scott"Standing Red Pines" Oil on Canvas
Item Details
An outstanding oil on canvas titled Standing Red Pines by well-listed American artist Michael Scott (b. 1952). A particularly large example of Scott’s work, this painting is emblematic of the artist’s landscape period, featuring a mystical forest area with tall thin trees and the pastel sky shining through. The work is signed in brown to the lower left; and a descriptive label with the artist’s name, title, medium, dimensions, and signature location is attached to the verso. Presented in a simple wood frame, it is ready to hang with picture wire to the verso.
Michael Scott received his bachelor degree from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA from the University of Cincinnati in 1978. His work has been extensively exhibited and can been found in prestigious private collections and museums including the Cincinnati Art Museum, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the JB Speed Museum in Kentucky, and the Hunter Museum of Art in Tennessee, to name a few. The artist resides and continues to paint in New Mexico. For more information about the artist, see the link below.
