An African carved wooden chair. This heavily carved and decorated chair has a ladder back form with slightly curved arms and a square seat. There is a tribal mask carved into the upper back that is repeated in the seat and a duo of seated figures in the middle of the back that is repeated on the stretcher between the legs. Each post for the back is topped with a carved head and each leg features a full figure seated cross legged. The arms and other areas of the chair not taken up with figures are treated with geometric or dimpled designs. This chair matches a second chair listed in this sale as 16ATL117-222.
