Vintage Offset Lithographs After Thomas Lawrence and M.B. Parkinson

A set of two vintage offset lithographs after original works by artists Thomas Lawrence (1769-1830) and M.B. Parkinson. Featured is a framed print after listed artist Thomas Lawrence’s 1825 painting titled Master Lambton, commonly referred to as The Red Boy. The image depicts a young Charles William Lambton in red attire, seated in a chair. The piece is printed on textured board and presented in a white frame with gilt trim. The frame includes a brass title plate to the front, as well as framer’s stickers and hanging cord to the back. The lot also includes a print after an original 1897 photograph by M.B. Parkinson titled Cupid Asleep. The print is titled in plate to Cupid’s arrow, and is presented under glass in a decorative wooden frame with wire to the back for hanging.
Condition
- wear to finish of both frames; foxing and damage to Lawrence frame backing; residue to frame and glass of Cupid print, protective paper backing is missing, chipping and loose hinges to frame.
