A handpainted Russian chess set with travel board box and chess pieces. A colorful and whimsical chess set with a black and white board with blue, red and floral embellishments. This chess board also serves as the box for holding all of the handpainted and unique chess pieces. The board has a hinged middle section for folding to create a carrying case for the game. The unique chess pieces have handpainted blue and red uniforms or designs. Each piece has facial features painted onto the lacquered wooden figures, creating a cheerful whimsical set. The board has Russian markings painted in some of the corner squares. All of the chess pieces are present and accounted for.
