Item Details

An offset lithographic reproduction on canvas of a well-known 1777 oil on linen painting by very well-listed Spanish painter and printer Francisco de Goya (1746-1828), titled The Parasol. The painting was one of a series of cartoons painted to be turned into tapestries for the walls of the Royal Palace of El Pardo in Madrid. The painting depicts a woman in an ornate dress seated with a dog in her lap as a young man holds a vibrant green parasol to shade her face. The artist’s original signature is not visible in this reproduction. The print is presented in a gilt frame with a wire attached to the verso for hanging.
