Crayon, Pastel on paper

A crayon, pastel, and watercolor on paper of a landscape by artist Werner Spitzer (b. 1913). This work features an elevated perspective of a town landscape, including small houses, trees, livestock, and dirt roads. The overall work is portrayed with scribbles and frantic linear delineations in crayon and pastel; some areas are blended with water and watercolor pigments. The work is signed with the artist’s initials in brown and stamped with the artist’s full name to the lower right. It is also dated ‘7.11.84’ to the lower right. The work is displayed without glass inside a wood frame with a brown mat. It is ready to hang with picture wire to the verso.

- minor scratches in frame and mat; minor stains to paper backing; minor tears in paper backing; some rips in lower left area of painted paper.
