Colt Model 1849 Navy Pocket Revolver

A Colt model 1849 Navy pocket revolver. This revolver features a six-shot .36 caliber cylinder and a 6’ octagonal barrel with an attached loading lever. Marked on top of the barrel is ‘Address Sam L. Colt, New York City’. Engraved on the barrel is Colt’s Patent # 73888. This model features a silver-plated brass trigger guard and grip frame, with walnut grips. Colt manufactured these revolvers between 1850 and 1873. This special Navy model revolver also displays an engraved scene of an 1846 battle between Texas Navy and the Mexico Navy engraved into the outside of the gun cylinder. This gun is untested.
