Jacques Dutil Oil Painting on Canvas of a Harbor Scene
Item Details
An oil painting on canvas of a harbor scene portrayed in an abstract cubist style by artist Jacques Dutil, dated 1961. This work features a combination of hard-edge geometric shapes and heavily outlined areas, portrayed with bold colors and wide, painterly brushstrokes. The scene includes two faceless people and boats at a harbor scene, where differentiation between figure, ground, and a sense of spatial recession is heavily obscured. The painting is signed and dated in brown to the lower right. Displayed in a brown and dark blue wood frame with a linen liner, the work is ready to hang with picture wire to the verso. Two labels, both with the artist’s name, are also adhered to the verso.
