A contemporary offset lithograph issued as a promotional poster by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The print features Picture Gallery With Views of Modern Rome by listed Italian artist Giovanni Pannini (1691–1765). The image shows the Count de Stainville sitting among depictions of Rome’s greatest architectural and artistic treasures. The piece is printed with ‘Pannini, European Paintings Galleries, The Metropolitan Museum of Art’ to the bottom. The piece is presented under glass in a wooden frame with wire to the back for hanging. Pannini produced more than one Views of Modern Rome painting; originals hang at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Louvre in Paris.
