Okada Koichi Shin-Hanga Restrike "Fuji from Kawaguchi"

A restrike Japanese shin-hanga woodblock print titled Fuji from Kawaguchi by 20th century Japanese printmaker Koichi Okada (born 1907). The print depicts a serene view of Mt. Fuji framed by brilliantly flowering branches full of pink blossoms. The mountains’ massive form ripples playfully into the water below. This late-20th century printing of the image includes different coloring than the original, as well as a printed copy of the artist’s signature to the lower right margin. The artist’s seal is printed to the lower right corner of the plate, and several additional seals and cartouches can be seen along the left edge. The print is matted in pale gray and presented behind glass in a thin wooden frame with gold tone finish and a hanging wire.
