Antique Carved Wingback Mauve Arm Chair

Item Details

An antique Louis XV style carved armchair. This balloon back style wingback has three panels to the curved back, each arching at the top and all divided by chestnut stained wooden stiles, which are hand carved and pierced with flower and filigree design, topped by a pair of peonies at the apex. The curled armrests have scroll detail at the bottom, above lilies of the valley in blocks above the square knees. The knees are carved with flowers, the apron is carved with ribbon and shell, and the cabriole legs are all carved with filigree. It is covered in a mauve upholstery.
