An early 20th-century Chinese export writing desk. The ebonized, hardwood case features an ornate, volcano- and dragon-carved crest above a superstructure with shelves, vertical dividers, and cabinet doors. The projecting, rectangular writing surface is embellished with carved edges over a pair of frieze drawers and four dragon-carved legs.
