Pair of 1950s Chairs Marilyn Monroe Provenance

A pair of 1950s, French Art Deco style side chairs, once belonging to the Los Angeles estate of Marilyn Monroe. Each features a deeply tufted, curved back and tight seat, upholstered in the original blue velvet. The ebonized frames have splayed front legs with gilt carved tassel ornament, to the top of each front leg. Accompanying this lot is a provenance plaque, ‘Pair of Tufted Chairs, C. 1958, From The Last Home of Marilyn Monroe, Fifth Helena Drive, Los Angeles, Cal., Purchased from Paramount Studios, 1983’.
