Oil on Artist Border by George Ames Aldrich (1872 – 1941), signed in the lower right and on verso, with title inscribed by the artist ‘The Old Bridge, Quimperle, Brittany.’

Aldrich, who became closely associated as an Indiana painter later in life, and exhibited heavily there, was perhaps best known for his landscapes from Brittany and Normandy.
