Two Cast Iron Hand Painted Mechanical Banks

Item Details

A pair of two cast iron hand painted mechanical banks. They are both reproductions of an old American mechanical bank from the original in the collection of ‘The Book Of Knowledge’.The ‘Owl bank works by placing a coin in the slot under his left ear. Then you push down on a lever on the rear of the owls’ body. This makes the owls head turn so that the coin falls into the bank. This bank comes in the original box with a Certificate of Authenticity. The second bank is titled ‘Leap Frog’. To operate this bank you move the standing boy to the back of the crouching one, place a coin in the slot at the top of the tree, then release the catch in the back of the fence which causes the leaping boy to push the lever that makes the coin drop. This bank does not come in a box but does have the operating directions and the Certificate of Authenticity’.
