Room-Sized Hand-Knotted Heriz Serapi Area Rug

A room-sized hand-knotted Heriz Serapi area rug, having a central star pendant medallion to the center in vibrant scarlet, pale blue, cinnamon, ruby and indigo. It rests on a saturated scarlet red field with rectilinear vines and large palmettes in the same palette. The white corner spandrels provide a contrast, using the same patterning and colorway. The guard borders feature floral elements, with the primary border having a deep indigo blue field with a large samovar pattern alternating with rounded star medallions and serrated oak leaves. It has a long, hand-tied wool fringe to each end. Unmarked.
