A first printing of the existentialist anthology Alienation, edited with introductions by Gerald Skyes (New York: George Braziller, 1964). This two-volume anthology deals with the subject of alienation in literature; volume one is subtitled The Cultural Climate of Our Time, and volume two is subtitled The Cultural Climate of Modern Man. The two dark blue clothbound hardcovers have the title printed horizontally at the top of the spine, in silver tone lowercase letters; the two volumes come in a light blue box slipcase with printed cover art on the front and side panels.
