Collection of Tiles and Trivets Including Minton
Item Details
A collection of four tiles and trivets, including a circa 1880s Minton brown and black Chinoiserie ceramic tile. The antique tile features three center medallions with Chinese dragon and floral illustrations, set against a field of foliate and geometric designs. The piece is marked ’Minton’s China Works, Stoke On Trent’ to the underside. Other ceramic tiles in this lot include an off-white rectangular tile with embossed foliate pattern, as well as a clay tile with an anthropomorphic sun to the center of a Catalonian wind rose, marked ‘Made in Spain, B, J-3, PH’ to the underside. The assortment also includes an unmarked stainless steel footed trivet with rabbit design.
Condition
- chipping to two sides of brown trivet; tape to underside of sun tile and white trivet; tiles have applied feet or padding.
